MAX III – Battery System with Generator
If the battery power becomes depleted, the generator automatically starts up to assure an uninterrupted supply of electricity to the sub-panel. Once power is restored, the inverter will disconnect the battery bank and the generator and again route power from the main panel directly to the backup circuits. As with MAX II, any generator power not required by the backup circuits is used to recharge the batteries.

During long-term power outages the MAX III operates on its noise-free battery power at night and employs its generator during the day to recharge the batteries. This is a very attractive feature if you don’t like hearing the sound of a generator at night. As with a MAX II system, you always have the option of adding photovoltaic solar panels to provide a source of clean power.
